Overheard in the SLC

Creepy guy: So, they have a law now that these chains have to break.

Grungy girl: Hm.

CG:         Yeah, people were buying those Hot Topic pants with chains and taking the chains and strangling people with them. They killed some people. So now there is either a state or federal law mandating that chains used in apparel – i.e., pants and jackets – have to break with a certain amount of pressure.

GG:        Mm.

CG:         It’s less pressure than it would take to kill someone. Now, a dog choke collar – that’s another matter.

GG:        Mm-hm.

CG:         I have one of each. Can you tell which is which?

GG:        What?

CG:         Can you tell which is which?

GG:        Oh, sorry. I wasn’t really listening to you.
