Jared and I are talking about sneakers.
Jared: You need a new pair of sneakers, don't you?
Me: Probably, but I don't necessarily want to get them until after I have the baby.
Jared: Really? I'd think you would want something orthotic right now -- you know, to help you carry around all that extra load.
Me: Gee, thanks a lot.
Jared: Hey, dump trucks have big tires, and there's a good reason.
(At this point, he was definitely kidding -- I think.)
