A blow to the head

The kids have a thing with the kitchen stools; they are continually being told to get down, get off, put them back, leave them alone, etc. On Sunday afternoon Thor was standing on a stool in the kids' bedroom. My best guess is that he was threatening to climb into Winnie's crib. He claims that Winnie pushed him (heaven knows it wouldn't be the first time). All I know is that there was horrific screaming from both kids, followed by Thor running out of the room with a bloody nose.

I put on a cold compress and the bleeding stopped in a few minutes, which is when I noticed that he was starting to bruise a little bit on his lower cheek and lip. Fast forward a couple of hours when the swelling was getting worse and he was still crying and we decided to head to the ER. He ended up getting a CT scan and they confirmed there were no fractures, so he is just going to look like this for a while:

For comparison, here are some pictures from a happier occasion (his birthday) a couple of months ago.

And here's a sneak-peek of a post to come (about our holiday trip to California) and some pictures of the sadly under-represented Rockster.

yikes! That is one good hit! at least you know that is is only temporary. It's a good thing kids bounce back fast since they are so accident prone.
