parrot

Winnie’s vocabulary has exploded and she is always trying to expand it by repeating things I say, then looking for confirmation from me that she said it right. Last night, for instance, we had this humorous (to me, anyway) exchange after she stepped in some dog poop outside and we had hosed her shoes off.

Me:  OK, your shoes are clean now.

Winnie:  Shoes are clean?

Me:  Yep. Well, maybe not totally clean, but at least the most egregious poop is gone.

Winnie:  Gree-jus poop?

Me:  Hm?

Winnie:  Gree-jus poop?

Me:  Oh, yes. Egregious poop.

Winnie:  Gree-jus poop!

Me:  That’s right.

I LOVE it! She is your daughter, so she needs to get used to using 'Black' words.
