The return

We got in last night from our week-long vacation to California. We considered any number of fun activities in the planning phases of this trip -- a cruise, Mexico, Disneyland, SeaWorld, Catalina -- and ultimately discarded each one in turn. Our activities were decidedly mundane (Pork Chop made multiple trips to the CA DMV), but there was plenty of time for idling about, napping, and enjoying the great weather and company, which was just what the doctor ordered. This was a very nice change from the recently frenetic pace of our existence.

With one minor exception on the road trip down, the Piggy was quite well-behaved. He thoroughly enjoyed exploring Grandma and Grandpa Hexberg's house and getting underfoot whenever possible. He loved watching planes fly overhead and after the first day or so he started pointing to the windows and ceiling whenever he heard one. We learned that he takes especially good naps when they are preceded by a quick-paced jaunt around the block and that he has special faces reserved just for the camera. He could not have been more spoiled by all the attention from his numerous aunts and uncles. Hopefully he will recover without any ill effects.

Of course the whole event was capped off by Devon and Annette's wedding, which seems to have gone off at the end of the day without any major hitches. Congrats to the newlyweds!
