Winnie is learning to talk. Every time she says a new word, I am startled all over again, largely because Thor was quite disinterested in talking until he was well past his second birthday. Now, of course, he keeps up a constant monologue and my fears of a verbal delay are firmly in the past.
Winnie is apparently more ambitious, or maybe just more desperate to be understood. She now routinely says: Elmo, thank you, bite (usually shouted when you are eating something she wants), Winnie, mama, doggy, quack-quack, piggies (in reference to her feet), and tickle-tickle (said while she tries to tickle you under the chin). At the rate she’s going, she and Thor will be conversing soon. Maybe they’ll hatch a plot against us.
