When they know you're leaving, things go downhill fast

Today I received the following e-mail from my illustrious employer:

Hello, Jeff,
We understand your last day with the firm will be September
XX, 2008. Please read the following..... etc., etc.

OK, since when am I "Jeff"? Since when am I a man? Since when does my name even contain a J? So I responded with the following:

1) There appears to have been some misunderstanding. My name is not Jeff. 2) with respect to my unpaid vacation, please.... etc., etc.

Anyway, maybe the tone was a little abrupt, but come on, people. Eight years of my life and countless days of blood, sweat, and tears, and you are calling me "Jeff"? I think I deserve better.
